BAILLIEU WELCOMES LOVELL AND DAVIS TO LEADERSHIP TEAM

Opposition Leader Ted Baillieu today welcomed new Upper House Leader David Davis, and Deputy Leader of the Upper House Wendy Lovell to the Victorian Parliamentary Liberal Party leadership team.
Mr Baillieu said Mr Davis and Ms Lovell had a combined 18 years experience in the Victorian Parliament and would play a vital role in the resurgence of the Victorian Liberal Party.
Mr Baillieu said this team, elected unanimously and unopposed by the Liberal Party Room this morning, was the united front that would lead the Party to the next election.
David Davis
• David Davis was elected as the Member for East Yarra Province in March 1996 and re-elected in 2002. In 2006 he was elected to Southern Metropolitan Region.
• Mr Davis was previously Shadow Minister for Health, Scrutiny of Government, Environment, Planning, Manufacturing & Exports and Small Business.
• Mr Davis is currently the Shadow Minister for Industry & State Development, Major Projects and Scrutiny of Government.
• Mr Davis is Chair of the Select Committee on Public Land Development, and has been a member of the Public Accounts and Estimates Committee, the Family and Community Development Committee, the Economic Development and Infrastructure Committee, and the Law Reform Committee.
• Most recently Mr Davis has played a vital role in scrutinising the Brumby Government and holding it to account for its extravagant expenditure.
